The members of Hurling Habaneros have deep roots in iconic bands of the Columbus music scene: John Hurlbut of The Swimmers and The Hurling Stones, and manager of the Fur Peace Ranch, plays guitar and handles vocals, with Mark Allen (bass) and Drew Racevskis (guitar) also contributing vocals. Blue Drew and Mark were founding members of Local Color, and The Mad Habaneros. Rockin’ Louis Schocken of Strangely Enough (and a healthy dose of other bands) provides the rhythms on cajon and percussion. Their eclectic mix of instrumentation and team chemistry make for unique, fascinating, and tasteful song interpretations.

Hurling Habaneros is an organic outgrowth of the genuine friendships and musical experiences its members have shared through the years. The band will be playing selections from John’s recent hit releases of Vols 1, 2, and 3 of “The River Flows” (recorded with Rock Hall of Fame inductee Jorma Kaukonen) as well as other old chestnuts and a sprinkling of original material as well. This one will bring the heat!

Max Muscato is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer and philanthropist. As a rock
artist he brings electrifying performances to every show. Over the last several years Max has gained
an extensive following and has toured and opened for: Citizen Cope, Theory of a Deadman, Aaron
Carter, Finger Eleven, Eric Gales, Ripe and more. He is currently working on his next singles Valarie
and Toxic & Poison due out in 2023.

In addition to his music career, Max is also the founder of Rock Autism Music Festival and the
creator/writer of the feature film Sonnyboy. The show is the truest depiction of their family dynamic
while revealing the grind it takes to make it in the music industry. Max's powerful songs written about
his brother's struggle with Autism and addiction is a deep-rooted catalyst that drives his passion and
career. Proceeds from his festival fund Rock Autism programs for individuals with Autism,
connecting them to a career in music and film.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country, allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age ten and under games, movement, stories and an opportunity to rock out in an effort to educate children and explore their creativity. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is an early and often first introduction to a child’s lifelong journey with live music and rock and roll. This children’s concert is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. See you at the show!

This concert for kids and families shares the music of the artist named above with a new generation of music lovers, but is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse knows that little ears are sensitive, so we turn down the volume at our shows.  However, all kids experience music differently and you may find that your child is more comfortable wearing hearing protection earmuffs, such as Baby Banz, which are available for purchase here.

By attending this event, I consent to my image (with or without my voice) being included in photographs and/or film and videotape of the event, and give the venue, The Rock and Roll Playhouse and their respective licensees and assigns the absolute and irrevocable right and permission to use and publish such content in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter developed.
